The Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, research, interpret and present the historical heritage of Elgin and the surrounding communities. This heritage has been passed down through the generations of descendants that call this area home, and in those who live further away. Board members and volunteers are preparing the museum for our opening this season. We are also busy securing our permanent home. Read All About It!
Our first event for 2025 is on opening weekend (May 10). The dedication of the museum and recognition of museum founders, which will include a ticketed Presentation (May 10 at 4:00 pm) of our newly reprinted "The History of Elgin" by Bernal Hug and a new exhibit of the Hug family.
