LIVING HISTORY COMMITTEE

2025 Schedule


Purpose:  To research local families and places to provide information for displays, tours, genealogy inquiries and educational presentations.

 

Projects: 

  1. Transcribing oral histories stored at the Elgin museum.
  2. Digitizing and documenting the photos stored in the museum collection. 
  3. Provide researched information about people, places or things that will be used in museum displays, the newsletter and events.
  4. Work with the acquisition committee, the curators and the newsletter editor.

 

Volunteers:  Both local and out of area volunteers can provide assistance.  Research is both local and on the web.  Meetings are zoomed for out of area volunteers.
